UNCASVILLE, CT — Connecticut Sun guard Saniya Rivers left the court in a wheelchair after making contact with Nia Coffey as she went in for a layup on Wednesday, July 8.

With 7:16 to go in the second quarter, Coffey blocked Rivers' 3-foot layup attempt. Rivers left shoe came off and she was later ruled out with a left ankle sprain. Rivers did not return to the bench for the second half.

Rivers was laying on the court surrounded by her teammates, who were holding up towels, for several minutes before trainers summoned a wheelchair. She got in and was wheeled back to the locker room. Rivers had five points, one rebound, two assists, two steals and a block when she left the game.
