Sandwich leads Cape ad Islands teams in MIAA girls lacrosse playoffs

The wait is over.

The road to a state championship starts now as the MIAA girls lacrosse state tournament brackets were released on Friday.

There will be 12 Cape and Islands teams that will extend their seasons.

Sandwich is the highest ranked team as they sit atop of Division 4, while Nantucket is the only other teams ranked in the top 10 at eighth in Div. 4.

Nine teams will host their first playoff game, while three will hit the road.
