A former Pittsburgh Steelers preseason standout has been elevated from the New Orleans Saints practice squad — none other than EDGE Eku Leota.

On Sunday, the Saints elevated Leota to their Week 5 game-day roster against the New York Giants — marking the ex-Steeler's 2025 regular-season debut.

Leota made his presence felt as part of Pittsburgh's 2025 preseason defense, particularly against the Carolina Panthers and Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was ultimately waived as part of the final roster cuts and signed with the Saints practice squad a week later.

While it's disappointing he didn't remain with the Steelers' practice squad, Pittsburgh boasts one of the best edge rusher tandems in the league — with a key contributor, Alex Highsmith, rumored to be making his long-awaited return vs. the Cleveland Browns in Week 6.
