It looks like the Buffalo Sabres have found their defense alternative to Colton Parayko.
And they're actually bringing aboard two defensemen in a trade with the Winnipeg Jets, not just one.
The deal was reported overnight Thursday into Friday by The Athletic's Murat Ates:
- Sabres get: Logan Stanley, Luke Schenn
- Jets get: Isak Rosen, Jacob Bryson, second-round pick
TSN's Darren Dreger added that the Sabres are also sending a fourth-round pick to Winnipeg, while the Jets will retain (pay) 50% of Schenn's salary.

Stanley is probably the more intriguing of the pair, although Schenn is more well known.
Schenn is a 36-year old who has been a part of two Stanley Cup championships in his long NHL career.
This season, Schenn has played 46 games and tallied one goal with six assists. Scoring has never been his game, though. He also has 54 blocked shots and 139 hits this season.
In his career, Schenn has 1,668 blocks and 3,797 hits.
Stanley is 27 years old and 6-foot-7. He's been with Winnipeg his whole career.
This season, Stanley is having his best offensive campaign, with nine goals and 12 assists through 59 games. He also has 69 blocked shots and 96 hits.
Now, both these guys are joining the Sabres less than 12 hours after Blues star Parayko used his no-trade clause to veto a move to Buffalo.
The Sabres went shopping in Winnipeg instead, and this will have to be good enough to bolster their defense.
