One of the top girls basketball recruits in Northern Kentucky – and the nation – has made her college decision.

Ryle sophomore Jayden McClain, the No. 12 player in the country in the 2029 class by the ESPN Terrific 25 rankings, will stay in the state to play for the Kentucky Wildcats.

McClain, a 6-foot-6 center, made the announcement on July 2, saying, "Home, Sweet Home. Lexington, I'm all in," in a social media post.

The daughter of former Cincinnati Bearcat Anthony McClain, she has been on the Ryle varsity team since she was a 7th grader in the 2023-24 season.

As a freshman last season, McClain led Ryle to a 21-10 record and the 9th Region semifinals. She averaged 12.8 points a game over 31 contests and shot a team-high 54.6% from the field while grabbing 8.4 rebounds a game.

McClain chose Kentucky over offers from Cincinnati, Xavier, Mississippi State, Ohio State and Florida State among others.
