You posted a thread one day saying you had been hacked. How did you know? I have this wierd email in my box as if I sent it to myself and I am guessing if I click the links porn will come up judging from the subject line. I am assuming I was hacked but not sure.

Probably not hacked, just spam, don't you think?

What do you mean "like it's from yourself"?

My email address sent it to my email address...

...but there is an explanation now. My wife accessed our email account from work to send info home and didn;t type anything on it to let me know it was from her. The subject is how Treasure Island in Vegas is scrapping the Pirate Show for a sexual show of some sort.

Now I feel stupid.

Someone can send you e-mail addressed to yourself if DNS reverse lookups are not enabled.

Reverse lookups basically do the opposite of DNS. Instead of translating a number to a name. It translates the name to a number to verify the IP address in the DNS table.

There is another way to do it as well but I forget how.

SMTP relay would allow for similar results but your e-mail provider would be black-balled from sending internet e-mail
