Rutgers men’s soccer has officially unveiled its fall 2026 schedule, with the season kicking off in just under two months on August 20th. The Scarlet Knights will play a total of 16 regular-season matches, 9 of which will be played on Yurcak Field.
Rutgers’ first game of the season will come on the road against American in late August. The Knights will stay in the D.C. area for their next game, which will be against Georgetown three days later.
After going on the road for the first two games of the season, Rutgers will have a five-game home slate that includes Sacred Heart on August 28th, Seton Hall on September 4th, UC Santa Barbara on September 7th, UCLA on September 11th (the team’s Big Ten opener), and finally Princeton on September 15th to wrap up the team’s nonconference slate.
Rutgers will then go on the road for two games to take on Ohio State on September 18th and defending national champion Washington on September 25th.
After that, Rutgers will return home for two games to take on Northwestern and Maryland on October 2nd and 6th.
The final five matches of the season will flip back and forth between home and away. The Knights will travel to Wisconsin on October 10th before returning home to play Indiana on the 16th. Rutgers will hit the road to take on Penn State on the 20th before returning home to play Michigan on the 23rd. The Knights will wrap up their season at Michigan State on the 30th.
Rutgers will play 6 teams that made the NCAA tournament last season. Those six teams include Washington, who won the national championship last year, Michigan, Indiana, Princeton, Georgetown, and Maryland. The Knights finished last season with a winning record at 8-6-3, but finished with a 3-5-2 record in conference play, something that they will be looking to turn around this year.
