Crazy it's just coming out but apparently in 2024 Bain was the driver in an accident on I95 in Miami at 4am, hit another car and crashed. A 22 year old woman passenger in his car was seriously injured, in a coma for several months, and then passed away. Obviously someone is still going to draft him but this is likely going to cost him millions of dollars and can't say I feel sorry for him

It was dismissed. The article indicates that teams have been aware of it for some time.

CBS article says he was driving erratically but the reason it was dismissed is somehow nobody did a field sobriety test at the time. he also had another careless driving violation in 2025 that wasn't charged.

CBS article says most teams say they're satisfied with his explanation but I am betting he falls because of it. Once it becomes public, which it now is, it's much harder for teams to draft him.

Jalen Carter was involved in a crash that killed two people while at Georgia. He still went ninth to the Eagles.

Right but he was the best player in the draft and would have gone much higher if not for that.

This just became public, teams knew, fans didn't. The reason NFL teams pass on guys with this sort of thing is they are concerned about appearances.

Bain was slated to go in the top 14 picks, I would not be surprised if he fell out of the first round.

PFF said last night that while teams are all saying we already knew that, they too expect him to fall significantly because teams will shy away from picking a guy with that on his record.

He will still get drafted fairly high and play in the NFL he's too good not to but I fully expect he'll slide and lose money.

Truth is...the only thing the nfl cares about in these situations is the optics/pr.
This was an auto accident in which an adult chose not to wear her seat belt. Tragic for her and everyone who cared about her. Including Reuben Bain who has to carry this loss with him the rest of his life.

It's easy to spin...so can the guy help win football games?

The nfl would draft Charles Manson and praise his leadership and charisma if he could get double digit sacks every year.

he's going to get drafted just not IMO as high as he would have before this became public
