Team Northern Ireland's Louis Rooney has lost to Lesotho's Mathealira Seholoholo by knockout in the men's bantamweight 55kg last 32.
A superb right-handed shot from Seholoholoended the contest after just 25 seconds of the second round.
Rooney had been leading 3-2 after a tight first round before the Team Lesotho boxer booked his spot in the last 16 to face Australia's Jye Dixon.
The 20-year-old was the first of the 12-strong boxing team to represent Northern Ireland in Glasgow.
Nicole Clyde is the next Team NI boxer in action when she faces Nancy Bamfo in the women's bantamweight 54kg last 16 on Sunday 26 July.
