India will look to arrest a miserable run of form when they take on England in the first of three ODIs in Birmingham on Tuesday, following a T20I series in which they suffered their first ever six-match losing streak in the format.
The clean sweep, which also included a defeat by Ireland earlier on the tour, cost India top spot in the T20I rankings and leaves the two-time world champions needing a rapid response as the tour shifts to the 50-over format.
England, by contrast, are in serious run of form. Their coaching staff has undergone a significant change in the wake of the series win, with Brendon McCullum stepping down as Test head coach, though he remains in charge of the white-ball side alongside captain Harry Brook.
Rohit Sharma, Shubman Gill (capt), Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, KL Rahul (wk), Shivam Dube, Washington Sundar, Axar Patel, Arshdeep Singh, Prasidh Krishna, Jasprit Bumrah.
Virat Kohli will play his first match for India since the IPL Final on May 31, having missed the recent series against Afghanistan through injury. It means his last appearance in India colours came in an ODI series against New Zealand at home earlier in the year.
His timing could not be better for India. Kohli has scored 616 runs in his last seven ODI innings at an average of 123.20, striking at 108.64, numbers that suggest his return alone could offer India's batting the stability it lacked throughout the T20I whitewash.
Rohit Sharma has shown good run off form in Afghanistan series but former Indian captain will look for a century. Against Afghanistan, he managed scores of 79, 48 and 16.
The Indian star will look to set the tone before the series gets away from them.

RoKo has become cricket's shorthand for Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli. It is a nickname formed from the first two letters of each name.
This has come to represent one of Indian cricket's most cherished batting partnerships. Both men have steadied India's innings through countless major tournaments over the years.
Rohit and Kohli have each led the national side at different points and their reunion at UK is one of the storylines heading into the ODI series.

It's the question every India fan will be asking on Tuesday but Kohli's numbers give a fair clue, though.
He has scored 616 runs across his last seven ODI innings, and in England specifically he has averaged nearly 52 with a century already to his name. But the Indian batsmen is coming off an Injury layoff and it can play a part how he fare in Edgbaston. But still we are expecting him to have a reasonable day. We are backing him to score fifty.
