My first thought was, "Another Robin Hood movie?" Except it's actually a series, and has Sean Bean, so sure, I'm in.

That one was pretty good.

Gotta admit, after that post I had subconsciously included that disastrous King Arthur movie with Charlie Hunnam in my grouping of recent Robin Hoods...it really skewed the average.

That movie was so bad I had free tickets and demanded my money back. Plus elephants, in England. freaking really?

That one wasn't bad. The one with Egerton and Foxx though I had to turn off.

just finished season one.
first off....good show. I enjoyed it, even with the skinny assed Friar Tuck.

However,...
Sean Bean as Nottingham was fookin nails of course...

But maybe its because Im American and we yanks aint up all proper like on Brit/english history.... but this story takes place before Richard is King...his dad rules....I always thought Richard the Lion Hearted was King,...off to the crusades,...and Nottingham and Richards slimy brother John were scheming to milk the country dry while King Richard was gone...

The Nottingham played by Bean is not a bad guy..he was manipulated a bit into doing some bad things but he made efforts all along the way to be honorable...I like this, because the idea of Sean Bean playing a character as morally repulsive as Nottingham wasnt sitting well with me.... but in all honesty, this version of the sheriff is not that far off from being Ned Stark.

But the show was solid from stem to stern. Writing is good...no glaring plot holes or 100 proof plot armor... the acting is good,...well over adequate for a basic weekly TV series...and the costuming was decent...special effects of course are kept to a minimum as there are no lasers, huge explosions, aliens a= or Dragons or any of that...basic medieval combat effects is about as technical as it gets and they do that fine without spraying blood everywhere.

Hard to discuss much of it without giving away points that make this series unique.
But its worth a binge...the guy that plays Robin,...every once in a while an angle hits, and he looks just like Jude Law, lol.

I watched the first episode and wasn't impressed. I was waiting until I re-subscribed to watch a few more episodes, when I learned over the holidays my mother has it. I watched two more episodes. She tentatively asked if we could stop, and I told her there wasn't a chance in hell anything could keep me watching. The "Robin Hood" lead sucked ass. Sean Bean was nails, as always, but it was so clunky trying to be uber edgy. Blech.
