The Angels have had some bad luck with active player deaths. Among several others, they lost another young pitcher just a decade ago and very little has shocked the baseball world more than the murder of Lyman Bostock just entering his superstar prime. RIP, Tyler Skaggs, 27 is far too young.

Yeah I forgot that he finished up his career as an Angel. I had adopted the Braves as my team when Bob Horner was drafted by them so I remember him best with Atlanta. But yeah, the curse of the Angels strikes again.

Patrick Corbin will wear #45 tonight for the Nationals in honor of his good friend Tyler Skaggs.
Both were drafted in 2009 (Skaggs 1st round, Corbin 2nd), and traded to the Dbacks in 2010. They were together in the minors/majors for most of the time until Skaggs was traded back to Angels in December 2013
