Chicago (1-0) opened its 2026 WNBA regular season on Saturday. The Sky defeated Portland (0-1), 98-83, at Moda Center in Portland, Oregon.

Former Lady Vol Rickea Jackson started for Chicago and played 36 minutes.

She totaled 19 points, seven rebounds, three assists and one block. The 6-foot-2 forward converted 5-of-14 field goal attempts, 1-of-4 three-point attempts and 8-of-10 free throw attempts.

Chicago will next play on Wednesday at Golden State. Tipoff is slated for 10 p.m. EDT.

Jackson is in her first season with Chicago. She was traded to the Sky from Los Angeles for Ariel Atkins on April 12.

Jackson was selected by the Sparks in the 2024 WNBA draft (No. 4 overall). She played at Tennessee from 2022-24 after transferring from Mississippi State.

The former Lady Vol averaged 20.2 points, 8.2 rebounds and 2.3 assists per game during the 2023-24 season. She earned USA TODAY Sports Network All-SEC First-Team honors two times.
