Richard Jefferson Opts Out Of $15.2M Contract

Richard Jefferson has opted out of the final season of his contract.
Jefferson would have earned $15.2M in the final year of his contract.
“It’s not an issue of not wanting to be in San Antonio," said Jefferson's agent Todd Eley to the Express-News. "It’s maximizing as many opportunities as you can."

I don't know how San Antonio managed to get him to opt out of $15.2 million; he'll be lucky to make that in three years with the way he played last season.

Not sure how this is good for SA. They have no capspace. Jefferson was the biggest expiring contract this upcoming season other than Jason Richardson.

Richardson never really fit in according to what i've heard from many Spurs fans. Thats a very general statement i know,but it's what i've heard. Regardless of that this is still surprising.
