German goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen is all but set to join Ajax on loan from Barcelona, multiple Dutch news reports said on Friday.
The reports said that the medical and other final details are to to completed over the next days.
Ter Stegen, 34, was dropped as a starter at Barca, where he has a contract until 2028, by coach Hansi Flick a year ago.
He was sidelined by a back injury until December and then joined Girona on loan in January, only to suffer a thigh muscle injury in his second match that also made him miss the World Cup for Germany.
A move to Ajax would reunite him with coach Michel who has joined the Amsterdam club from Girona.
