Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen could be heading to Ajax this summer for a reunion with former Girona boss Michel.
The German goalkeeper played briefly under Michel last season before suffering a brutal injury blow that ruled him out of the rest of the season and ensured he missed out on World Cup 2026.
Now, a new report from Mundo Deportivo states that Michel wants to bring Ter Stegen with him to Ajax after taking over the Eredivisie giants.
Ter Stegen is looking for a new club following the end of his loan spell with Girona and is said to be open to opportunities abroad.
With Jordi Cruyff also now at Ajax, a move to the Amsterdam club could become a reality for the Germany goalkeeper for next season.
Barcelona are eager to get Ter Stegen’s hefty salary off the wage bill as he’s not part of their plans for the future following the arrival of Joan Garcia.
