Maybe Carolina Panthers defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero could be on the move after all.

According to ESPN senior NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Las Vegas Raiders have requested permission to speak with Evero for their head-coaching vacancy. Schefter's colleague and fellow insider Jeremy Fowler, just minutes after, then reported that the Atlanta Falcons are also seeking a talk with Carolina's play-caller for their opening.

These developments come just hours after a huge vote of confidence from head coach Dave Canales, who told reporters that the team has already extended Evero's contract.

"I have complete trust in Ejiro," Canales told reporters on Sunday. "Love the way that he's brought this group to play quality football together. He's got my full support. And love our scheme, love what we do there.

"Getting our guys to play together when we execute this scheme, it's really difficult to play against. And the guys have found a way to play together, communicate together."

Evero has interviewed for head-coach openings before, including with Carolina in 2023. He also met with the Falcons and Seattle Seahawks in 2024.

Since Canales' announcement from this afternoon, Joe Person of The Athletic reported that the Panthers extended Evero through the 2027 campaign.
