During the Sunday pregame show on Fox, NFL Insider Jay Glazer shared a surprising report about the Pittsburgh Steelers and the contract of wide receiver DK Metcalf. The language in Metcalf's contract meant that the Steelers could void $45 million in future guaranteed money including all of his fully guaranteed 2026 salary after earning a two-game suspension for a physical altercation with a fan.
However, according to Glazer, the team is standing behind Metcalf and are not going to enforce the contract and will pay him his full guarantees.
Metcalf got into an argument that got physical with Detroit Lions fan Ryan Kennedy during the game three weeks ago and the league found it egregious enough to suspend him for the rest of the regular season. Metcalf appealed the suspension but it was upheld so Metcalf can't play again until the playoffs.
The Steelers can secure a playoff spot and the AFC North with a win on Sunday against the Cleveland Browns.
