Jacksonville Jaguars' wide receiver Joshua Cephus is now an unrestricted free agent.
According to Demetrius Harvey for the Florida Times-Union, the Jaguars are non-tendering Cephus, who was an exclusive rights free agent. This, in turn, makes Cephus an unrestricted free agent and able to sign where he pleases.
Exclusive rights free agents are players with fewer than three years of accrued NFL experience. If the original team tenders an ERFA a one-year contract at league minimum, that player cannot negotiate with other teams.
The Jaguars chose not to do that with Cephus.
Late during last summer's training camp, the Jaguars waived Cephus wth an injury designation.
Cephus had been putting together a strong showing during training camp prior to his injury, seemingly putting himself in the conversation for one of the Jaguars' final roster spots. In his two preseason games with Jacksonville last summer, Cephus caught 5-of-6 passes for 39 yards.

Former #Jaguars WR Joshua Cephus is now an unrestricted free agent after he was not offered a tender by the team. Was an ERFA heading into the new league year.
