After Germany’s disastrous 2026 World Cup campaign, sweeping changes began with the sacking of Julian Nagelsmann. Former Borussia Dortmund and Liverpool manager Jürgen Klopp is the preferred candidate to be the German national team coach and his exit from Red Bull is all but confirmed:

A meeting took place in Munich today between DFB President Bernd Neuendorf, Vice President Hans-Joachim Watzke, and Red Bull CEO Oliver Mintzlaff, as reported by @BILD and @SkySportDE. The trio discussed the release of Jürgen Klopp from his Red Bull contract in order to become Germany’s new head coach.

According to @dpa, the meeting was productive and an agreement has been reached between the two parties. Nothing now stands in the way of Klopp’s appointment.

From the looks of it, only a few details need to be ironed out and then we can say Servus Klopp. This is just the beginning for a new era at the German NT.
