Dixon was a standout cornerback at North Carolina last season, and the Giants were able to land the promising Tar Heel as an undrafted free agent following the 2026 NFL draft. He was expected to compete for an everyday role in New York’s secondary this season, but the cornerback will more than likely miss the entire 2026 campaign following the devastating news.

Dixon was nothing short of a star throughout his time at both Washington and North Carolina. The talented corner recorded 88 total tackles (five for a loss) and two interceptions across three seasons and could have played a legitimate role for the Giants in 2026 before the injury.

The ex-Tar Heel has proven to excel in man coverage, and Dixon had held his own against some of the top receivers in college football over the last few years.

The injury serves as a devastating blow to the Giants’ secondary this offseason, and Dixon is now expected to miss his entire rookie year.
