There is a subset of Baltimore Ravens fans who would like to see the club make a change at the head coaching position. This group of malcontents could still get their wish, but it could come in a much different manner than they expected. Black Monday came and went, with four coaches (Raheem Morris, Kevin Stefanski, Jonathan Gannon, and Pete Carroll) getting sacked, but John Harbaugh was not one of them. Some prediction markets and pundits saw Harbaugh as a likely candidate to get the axe, but the Ravens organization clearly feels otherwise.

The Action Network actually created an NFL head coach Firing Score (0–100), which is a metric based on wins vs. expectations, fan negativity (they obviously have been searching and Kalshi/Polymarket odds. Harbaugh, with a score of 43.8, came in at #3 overall, meaning he was the third-most likely coach to be fired on or around Black Monday. If Harbaugh does leave, however, it is almost certainly only going to happen in a more "mutual parting of ways" fashion, and that could even come via a trade.

A potential suitor has already been found in the New York Giants. According to Giants Wire, citing a report in The Athletic, Big Blue has already had "internal conversations" about Harbaugh if he is made available. The report goes on to say that NYG is also interested in Kevin Stefanski, who was fired by the Cleveland Browns just yesterday.

The Giants are reported to prefer Harbaugh over Stefanski, though, and that is logical, considering that he has a much better resume of accomplishments. Also, given how much the Giants have completely reworked their offense in the past couple of years, Harbaugh would be a better fit than Stefanski.

As we sit here right now, I think Kevin Stefanski is the leader in the Giants clubhouse. The team has had internal conversations about John Harbaugh, as you would expect, in case he leaves the Ravens. Harbaugh would hurdle Stefanski if he's free. https://t.co/58Jd5omIau

Is it time for Harbaugh and the Ravens to part ways? Would a fresh start be beneficial to all involved? There is no short answer to that question, but it's clear that some coaching staff changes are coming to Baltimore this offseason. Harbaugh did sign a three-year extension this past spring, however. So if he is to exit the franchise, it won't be so simple.
