Former Germany full-back Robin Gosens is close to agreeing on a transfer to promoted Bundesliga club Schalke, the Bild newspaper and broadcasters Sky said.
According to the report, talks between club and player have intensified and Gosens is expected to do his medicals in Gelsenkirchen in the upcoming days.
Gosens is at Serie A club Fiorentina where he has a contract until 2028. He would likely have to accept a pay cut at Schalke but has said in the past that Schalke are the club closest to his heart.
He has spent the majority of his career in the Netherlands and Italy, but has one season in the Bundesliga, at Union Berlin in 2023-24.
