As the NFL legal tampering period draws near, the Philadelphia Eagles are likely to lose star tight end Dallas Goedert to the open market. According to Matthew Berry of NBC Sports, who gathered intel at the NFL Scouting Combine, Goedert is expected to sign elsewhere in free agency.

While many of the Eagles headlines these days are about whether A.J. Brown will stay or go, one player I’m told that will definitely be moving on from Philly this offseason is Dallas Goedert.

Goedert and the Eagles agreed to a reworked one-year, $10 million deal last offseason to keep him in Philadelphia. The decision paid off, as Goedert broke the franchise record for most touchdowns by a tight end in a single season, a mark previously set by Pete Retzlaff in 1965.

The Eagles will face several tough financial decisions this spring as they prepare to sign Jalen Carter and Jordan Davis to long-term deals. With Goedert tuning 31 in January, he likely won't fit into the budget.

The 2018 second-round pick has spent his entire career in Philadelphia, recording 409 receptions for 4,676 yards and 35 touchdowns across eight seasons. The Eagles will look to replace that production through team-friendly deals in free agency and the NFL Draft.

Kenyon Sadiq had one of the best days ever by a TE at the Combine:

40-Yard Dash: 4.39 (best ever by a TE)
Vertical Jump: 43.5’’ (second-best ever by a TE)
Broad Jump: 11’1’’ (third-best ever by a TE)@Accenture | @oregonfootballpic.twitter.com/fxvABmsGrd
