Report – Inter Determined to Fend Off Growing Interest in Italian Prodigy

Serie A champions Inter reportedly have no interest in selling sought-after starlet Francesco Pio Esposito amid growing Premier League interest. According to Calciomercato, Cristian Chivu has deemed the 21-year-old striker non-transferable.

Widely regarded as one of Europe’s hottest prospects, Pio Esposito enjoyed a memorable maiden season at the Giuseppe Meazza. After a superb breakout campaign with Spezia in Serie B, he returned to Inter last summer and immediately cemented his first-team status.

Despite his youth, he made 48 competitive appearances for Inter last term, registering ten goals and six assists. Viewed as a long-term replacement for Marcus Thuram, Esposito sits in the club’s highest esteem, but his impressive performances in 2025/26 have not gone unnoticed.

Premier League heavyweights Arsenal and Manchester United have reportedly set their sights on the Inter prodigy. Furthermore, neither team has been deterred by Esposito’s staggering €85 million price tag. Still, the Nerazzurri will do everything in their power to keep their rising star at Meazza.

Esposito graduated from the club’s youth academy and represents not only Inter’s future but also their present. He quickly developed an impressive understanding with captain Lautaro Martinez during his first Serie A season, giving Inter another reason to fend off potential suitors.

Moreover, Esposito has recently extended his contract with the Nerazzurri, pledging his allegiance to the club until 2031. Needless to say, it puts Inter in a strong negotiating position this summer.

However, clubs like Arsenal and Man Utd rarely take no for an answer when they set their sights on a player, meaning Inter may have to brace themselves for some serious pressure.
