LEXINGTON — Kentucky basketball coach Mark Pope aren't done in the transfer portal. And the latest addition is a hometown kid.

Reece Potter, who played at Miami of Ohio the two seasons, committed to the Wildcats on Monday.

A 7-foot-1, 215-pound center, Potter averaged 6.5 points and 3.7 rebounds per game in 2024-25. He graduated from Lexington Catholic High School, where he averaged 17.9 points and 8.7 rebounds during his senior season, making 55.8% of his field goals and 76.8% of his free throws.

Potter led Lexington Catholic to a 32-3 overall record as a senior, earning a spot on The Courier Journal's Kentucky All-State boys basketball first team for the 2022-23 KHSAA season.

Potter is the sixth player UK has picked up from the transfer portal this offseason.

Former Tulane wing Kam Williams joined March 28, ex-Pittsburgh guard Jaland Lowe committed April 5, followed by former Alabama forward Mouhamed Dioubate on April 7 and ex-Arizona State forward Jayden Quaintance on April 8. Former Florida guard Denzel Aberdeen committed April 21.
