The Cincinnati Reds host the Baltimore Orioles on July 4 and have plenty planned to celebrate our nation's 250th birthday.
The Reds, along with the other 28 MLB teams based in the continental United States, will wear jerseys with the stars and stripes in the players' numbers and a "USA250" patch on the shoulder. All 30 MLB teams will wear special caps with the "USA250" patch, including the Toronto Blue Jays, which will wear traditional road uniforms.
The special uniforms are available for purchase from the MLB Shop.
In addition to the special jerseys and caps, the Reds will do a fan giveaway of USA-themed cowboy hats, have a pregame ceremony honoring veterans with a giant flag on the field and a flyover of UH-60 Black Hawks during the National Anthem, and a postgame fireworks and drone show, among other things.
