MILWAUKEE – Cincinnati Reds All-Star starter Hunter Greene will make his season debut Saturday at home against the Baltimore Orioles, manager Terry Francona said.
Fourth of July. Fireworks night. Triple-digit firepower on the mound.
"Good day to come back," Greene said.

Greene made three scoreless minor-league rehab starts, including pitching into the seventh inning for Triple-A Louisville on Sunday, before rejoining the team this week in Milwaukee in anticipation of being activated this weekend.
Greene underwent elbow surgery in March to remove bone chips he said were discovered just after last season, at which point he opted for a non-surgical treatment. The problem resurfaced in spring training, necessitating the surgery.
The Reds' rotation for the Orioles series: Brady Singer on July 3, then Greene, followed by Nick Lodolo.
Greene joins a rotation that also includes 2025 All-Star Andrew Abbott, presumptive 2026 All-Star Chase Burns and rookie Rhett Lowder.
Francona said the club is waiting to announce how it plans to arrange the rotation after the Orioles series, with several variables in play, including Monday's off day.
For now, he's just looking forward to getting Greene back.
“He’s shown when he’s out there healthy he can be one of the best pitchers in baseball,” Francona said. “At this point he hasn’t been able to do it. That’s not a slam against him. Just things have come up.
“But having him back will be really good.”
