Riley Cornelio and three relievers combined on a four-hitter as the Rochester Red Wings beat the Lehigh Valley IronPigs 5-0 on Saturday night at ESL Ballpark.

Cornelio allowed just one hit over 6 2/3 innings, walking five and striking out seven to improve to 5-1. Andre Granillo, Clayton Beeter and Eddy Yean finished the final 2 1/3 innings to complete Rochester’s shutout.

Andrés Chaparro supplied nearly all of the offense, going 3-for-4 with a double, a three-run home run and four RBI out of the cleanup spot. Christian Franklin added three hits and scored the game’s first run, while Harry Ford and Robert Hassell III chipped in two hits apiece as Rochester totaled 12 hits.

Rochester struck first in the opening inning. Franklin reached on a sharp single to right and eventually took third before Chaparro lined a run-scoring double to left to put the Red Wings up 1-0.

The Red Wings broke the game open in the sixth. Ford led off with a single to center and Morales followed with a sharp single to left, setting the stage for Chaparro, who drove a three-run homer to center for a 4-0 advantage.

Rochester added its final run in the eighth. Chaparro singled back through the box and moved up when Hassell III singled to center, then scored when Pinckney grounded into a force at second.

Lehigh Valley’s best chances came via its patience at the plate, but the IronPigs stranded eight runners and went 0-for-3 with runners in scoring position. Right fielder Dylan Moore had two of their four hits, while starter Bryse Wilson took the loss after giving up four runs on eight hits over 5 1/3 innings.
