After splitting the first two games of their series at Fenway Park, the Boston Red Sox and Atlanta Braves squared off in the rubber match on Thursday.

The Braves' starting lineup featured two former Red Sox players who were batterymates on Boston's 2018 championship team. Former Red Sox ace Chris Sale was on the mound for Atlanta, while former Boston catcher Sandy Leon was behind the plate for the Braves.

Meanwhile, the Red Sox don't have a single player left that played for them in 2018 in their entire organization, let alone on the field on Thursday.

That shows how much roster churn and organizational turnover the Red Sox have had over the last eight years. There's been some level of continuity in the front office and with the ownership group, but on the field, it's a new era.

Boston is a young team with an emerging core, while Atlanta is a veteran team with established stars. The Red Sox are still battling growing pains, while the Braves' record this year speaks for itself.
