This has not been the season that Boston Red Sox fans were hoping for. They currently find themselves in fourth place in the AL East with a 22-27 record.

They are 11.5 games behind the first-place Tampa Bay Rays, which means they have a big uphill battle. However, there is still plenty of time to close that gap.

But some fans may not have much faith in the current state of the team. And that makes the upcoming draft all the more important.

The Red Sox will be drafting 20th overall. They will miss out on some of the premier names on the board, but there will be loads of talent to choose from when it's their time on the clock.

Whatever the team does, they have to make a solid pick here. They lost a good portion of their farm system when they traded with the Chicago White Sox to acquire Garrett Crochet.

Bleacher Report's Joel Reuter recently came out with his latest mock, and in it, he has the Red Sox grabbing UCLA ace Logan Reddemann, but it could be a gamble.

"Reddemann turned in an 18-strikeout performance against Rutgers on April 10 and followed it up with a quality start against Minnesota the following Friday, but he has been sidelined since while dealing with arm fatigue. A healthy return will be key to cementing his first-round status, as a 2.87 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 84 strikeouts in 59.2 innings had him trending up in a big way prior to the layoff."

Reddemann is dealing with some arm fatigue, which is not helping his case. If it wasn't for that, he could be way higher on the mock draft boards.

On the flip side, if the arm fatigue doesn't amount to anything, this could be a steal for the Red Sox. It just comes down to whether this arm fatigue is a sign of trouble later down the road.
