Mike Green sees a bright future for Zion Young. Appearing on The Lounge Podcast with Ryan Mink and Clifton Brown, Green discussed the rookie defender and explained why Young has already made a strong impression during the offseason work.

"Zion, he's a great person," Green said. "Besides him being a great football player as well."

Green said Young's versatility and ability to absorb information have been particularly impressive.

"The way that he can learn so fast has been extremely impressive," Green said.

What stands out most to Green is how much Young improved in a short period of time.

"The first day he came in practice versus the last day, which was today, is two totally different players," Green said.

Green believes that type of growth is rare at the professional level.

"I feel like you are a special human being when you're able to be so versatile and you're able to throw away what you've been taught in the past and apply what's being coached to you new here in the NFL," Green said.

The Ravens are counting on contributions from several young pass rushers this season, and Green believes Young is positioning himself to become part of that group.

"He's been doing great doing that," Green said. "Props off to him."

Green is already imagining the possibilities of lining up alongside Young, Trey Hendrickson, and the rest of Baltimore's defensive front.

"I'm excited for him this year," Green said. "He's going to be great for us."
