The Ravens are hiring former Chargers defensive coordinator Jesse Minter as their new head coach, according to multiple sources.

This hire follows the firing of former head coach John Harbaugh, who later accepted the head coaching position with the Giants.

Minter previously served as a defensive assistant and defensive backs coach for Baltimore from 2017 to 2020, making this a return to a familiar organization.

In his first year with the Chargers, the defense finished first in the NFL in points allowed per game (17.7). This past season, Minter's unit finished fifth in total defense and ninth in scoring defense.

Under Minter's guidance, several Chargers defensive players earned All-Pro and Pro Bowl honors.

With Minter off to the Ravens, the Bolts will now begin their process in finding the team's next defensive coordinator.
