The Ravens coaching search is off and running, and after interviewing 17 candidates, owner Steve Bisciotti has narrowed it down to a final group. Anthony Weaver, Joe Brady, and Jesse Minter have all had second interviews, while Bisciotti could be waiting on a coach from a conference championship team to also interview.

Minter was on the Ravens' coaching staff from 2017-20, beginning as a defensive assistant, then promoted to assistant defensive backs coach and, in 2020, to defensive backs coach. He was scheduled to interview for the Browns head coaching job on Thursday, but Mary Kay Cabot reports that Minter canceled that interview.

Breaking: #Chargers DC Jesse Minter is not interviewing for the #Browns HC job today as scheduled, likely because he feels like he has other HC opportunities that are more certain, sources tell clevelanddotcom.

Minter then succeeded current Seahawks head coach Mike Macdonald as Michigan's defensive coordinator when Macdonald joined the Ravens in 2022. After winning a national title in 2023, Minter followed Jim Harbaugh to the Chargers, and his defenses have earned respect around the league as Los Angeles is tied for second in interceptions (15) and tied for eighth in takeaways (18).

The search is wide-ranging and will still include interviews with 49ers DC Robert Saleh, Rams Passing Game Coordinator Nathan Scheelhaase, Ex-Dolphins HC Mike McDaniel, Rams DC Chris Shula, and Bills OC Joe Brady.
