For the first time in 18 years, the Baltimore Ravens are searching for a new head coach, and it's been a somewhat slow and grueling process started 14 days ago with the first round of virtual interviews with candidates on Monday, January 5, and continued until the conclusion of the divisional round of the playoffs, while candidates who were not employed, or employed by teams currently not in the playoffs, were free to interview in person with prospective teams.

Following the divisional round, teams can have in-person interviews with coaches whose teams have been eliminated.

For the Ravens, the second phase of the process is underway and will now include a late first interview with Broncos special teams coordinator Darren Rizzi. Second interviews have been scheduled with Chargers' defensive coordinator Jesse Minter,Bills' offensive coordinator Joe Brady, and Dolphins' defensive coordinator Anthony Weaver. Two of their initial candidates, Kevin Stefanski (Falcons) and Robert Saleh (Titans), have been hired for jobs by other organizations. Weaver, Minter, and Brady appear to be amongst the early finalists entering the final week of the playoffs, with a potential announcement set to come during or after the buildup to the Super Bowl.

Five other candidates, Vance Joseph, Davis Webb, Klint Kubiak, Nate Scheelhaase, and Chris Shula, are still in the playoffs and can't do in-person interviews until next week.

Coaches on teams in the AFC and NFC championship games can't interview with teams until their team is eliminated, while coaches from teams that reach the Super Bowl can have virtual or in-person interviews during the bye week between the conference championship games and the Super Bowl. Once Super Bowl week begins, teams must wait until the day after the game to interview candidates.
