Raven Johnson praising Caitlin Clark should quiet speculation of drama

While it shouldn't be a surprise in the slightest, new Indiana Fever rookie guard Raven Johnson expressed her excitement to play with superstar Caitlin Clark in the WNBA on Monday night.

After Johnson joined Indiana as the 10th overall pick in this year's WNBA Draft, she told Overtime WBB that Clark is the person she's most excited about playing with in Indianapolis.

Johnson said this despite unfounded speculation there might be bad vibes between the two after the infamous Clark wave-off moment during the 2023 NCAA women's tournament game between South Carolina and Iowa.

While Johnson has been vocal about how negative public reaction to the viral wave-off affected her, she praised Clark's standard of play and leadership while explaining why she's so ready to join her former rival in Indy.

"She's a phenomenal player," Johnson said about Clark. "With the things she does, it's bar standard. She can shoot the ball, could lead a team and they win. She has a winning mentality, and I think that's the biggest thing."
