The Texas Rangers have added a corner infielder via waivers from the Colorado Rockies.

First baseman Blaine Crim was claimed by Texas and optioned to Triple-A Round Rock, according to Mark Polishuk of MLB Trade Rumors.

Crim spent the first six seasons of his minor league baseball career in the Rangers organization before making his Major League debut with the AL West club in 2025.

He wound up getting 61 plate appearances with the Colorado Rockies last year after being designated for assignment by the Rangers, hitting five home runs with a .851 OPS.

The 28-year-old has shown above-average power in the minors, hitting 33 home runs in 134 games with Triple-A Round Rock in 2024.

Crim began the year on the Rockiess' IL with an oblique strain. He has three minor league options, which the Rangers could use to their advantage in the event of injuries to regulars in the infield.
