Oct. 9—A member of the Glacier Range Riders' sturdy bullpen has been named a Pioneer Baseball League All-Star, but the league may have missed the zone on another Glacier pitcher.

Jacob Hasty, who helped Range Riders put together one of the better pens in the league, was honored after appearing in 45 games with a 1-1 record and a 1.45 earned-run average. He allowed 33 hits and 27 walks in 43 1-3 innings while striking out 56. He had two saves.

Not getting the nod was Ty Bothwell, whose 130 strikeouts (in 105 innings) led the PBL. Bothwell was 4-6 with a 5.40 ERA in 19 starts.

The three All-Pioneer starting pitchers were Matthew Sox and Brandan Beard of Missoula and Noah Millikan of the champion Oakland Ballers.

Sox went 12-3 with a 3.83 ERA; he was also named the league's Pitcher of the Year.

Beard was 5-3 with a 5.60 ERA. Millikan went 7-1 with a 2.12 ERA in 14 starts for Oakland, which beat Idaho Falls in the PBL Championship Series.

Grand Junction's Reese Miller is the league's Reliever of the Year, after racking up 16 saves with 83 strikeouts in 54 1-3 innings. He had a 1.33 ERA.

Aaron Miles was named Manager of the Year after leading Oakland to a record-setting 73-23 record on the way to the title.

Ogden catcher Christopher Sargent is league MVP, after hitting .384 with 35 home runs and 130 runs batted in over 80 games. Sargent's contract was purchased by San Diego on Aug. 26.

Third baseman Taylor Darden of Boise was named Rookie of the Year, after hitting 4.29 with 18 homers and 125 RBIs for the Hawks. He also stole 24 bases.

Finally, Missoula's Roberto Pena was named International Player of the Year. The Venezualan hit a modern league-record 46 home runs, with a .358 average and 129 RBIs.
