Rams draft record-setting Oregon TE Terrance Ferguson with 46th overall pick

After trading back in the first round, the Los Angeles Rams waited until No. 46 overall to make their initial selection in the 2025 NFL Draft. With the pick they acquired in a trade with the Atlanta Falcons, the Rams selected Oregon tight end Terrance Ferguson.

For a team that's been hunting for a young tight end in recent years, attempting to trade up for Dalton Kincaid and Brock Bowers, they finally have their guy in Ferguson.

Last season at Oregon, Ferguson caught 42 passes for 591 yards and three touchdowns. He holds the school record for receptions (134) and touchdown catches (16) by a tight end in Oregon history, showing how great his career in Eugene was.

Here's what USA TODAY's Aryton Ostly wrote about Ferguson in his scouting report.

Great athlete with impressive burst off the line at his size (6-foot-5, 247 pounds). Ideal wingspan and ball tracking skills to be a downfield threat with contested catch ability. Can break through contact after the catch as well. His run blocking skills are average at best, he'll need to get stronger in the NFL.

Ferguson was a first-team All-Pac-12 selection in 2023 when he scored six touchdowns and had 414 yards on 42 catches. He was also an honorable mention All-Pac-12 selection in 2022 when he had five touchdowns and 391 yards.
