Los Angeles Rams team doctor Neal ElAttrache will be questioned by MLB investigators over his connection to Conor McGregor’s performance-enhancing drug use, according to Michael Schmidt of the New York Times.
ElAttrache is the team doctor for both the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Rams, and is a renowned orthopedic surgeon who has performed countless procedures on high-profile athletes.
According to The Times, ElAttrache supported McGregor’s decision to take PEDs while he was recovering from a leg injury. ElAttrache oversaw the surgery on McGregor’s leg and sent the UFC star “to a specialist who prescribed banned drugs,” The Times reports.
MLB wants to find out why ElAttrache supported McGregor’s decision to use PEDs, and whether he’s instructed any other players to do the same. The New York Times asked the NFL if it will also be investigating ElAttrache but the league did not respond.
Over the years, ElAttrache has performed surgeries on Rams stars such as Cooper Kupp and Odell Beckham Jr.
