A rumor circulated on Sunday when Mike Florio of ProFootballTalk reported that the Los Angeles Rams considered trading away Davante Adams while they were discussing a potential move for A.J. Brown. Sean McVay said earlier in the offseason that he had “no reason to believe" Adams wouldn’t be back with the Rams, and there have been no indications the team has (or had) any plans to move him.
A few hours after Florio’s report, the Rams appeared to address the rumor with a clever tweet. Out of the blue, the team posted a video of McVay introducing Adams at a team meeting last offseason after the Rams signed him in free agency.
As you can see in the video, McVay was elated to have him in Los Angeles and it’s probably not a coincidence that the Rams posted that specific video when they did.
Did McVay grab the keys from admin and post the video himself? Because there's no doubt the Rams shared it intentionally, knowing they were refuting any rumors about trading Adams.
Adams led the NFL in touchdown receptions with 14 despite missing the last three games of the regular season, having an instant impact on the offense in 2025. Even if the Rams did explore trading for Brown, it doesn't mean they simultaneously attempted to move Adams.
