Los Angeles Ramsfans can finally exhale. After a brief scare that had the fanbase holding its breath, star pass rusher Myles Garrett is back on the field.

Garrett just ran onto the field for the start of team drills at training camp, signaling an end to his recent absence. The defensive end missed the last four-practice block dealing with what the team officially called “lower body soreness.” While training camp injuries always raise red flags, Los Angeles clearly took a cautious approach with their marquee defender.

When you have a game-wrecker like Garrett on the roster, you don’t take chances in early August. The former Defensive Player of the Year remains the anchor of the defense. While there isn’t a box score to pull fresh game stats from today’s practice, his career track record speaks for itself.

He consistently racks up double-digit sacks, often clearing 14 sacks in a single campaign, and maintains elite pressure rates, forcing opposing quarterbacks into constant panic. The Rams need him at full strength to maintain their ferocious pass rush this coming season.

Missing four practices isn’t ideal for building early chemistry, but for a veteran of Garrett’s caliber, preserving his health takes priority over August reps. The coaching staff recognized the soreness and smartly shut him down before a minor issue could escalate into a lingering problem. Now, he looks ready to ramp back up and resume his usual dominance in the trenches.

With preseason action looming, Los Angeles will likely continue to manage his workload carefully. Fans shouldn’t expect to see him take a massive snap count in exhibition games anyway. The main goal remains getting him to Week 1 completely healthy and ready to terrorize offensive lines. For now, seeing him back in pads and joining team drills provides the exact positive update the organization needed.
