The NFL is all about legacy, and one year after signing an undrafted rookie deal with his father's old team, Qadir Ismail is joining his uncle's old squad.

Ismail is signing a one-year deal with the Las Vegas Raiders, which the team announced before this weekend's NFL draft.

Ismail, who was signed to the Ravens' practice squad last August, was placed on injured reserve in October and missed the remainder of the 2024 NFL season. The son of former Ravens wide receiver Qadry Ismail was invited for a tryout at minicamp after a solid career at Samford. He did well enough to be signed to the 90-man roster at the start of Organized Team Activities.

In late July, the 6-foot-6 Ismail switched from wide receiver to tight end and continued to make plays, earning a spot on the team.

One of Ismail's strengths is his versatility. He began his college career as a quarterback at Villanova before moving to wide receiver at Samford.
