After weeks of complaints from fans, the Las Vegas Raiders finally handed third-round rookie Caleb Rogers his debut in Sunday's Week 13 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. Despite injuries to Jackson Powers-Johnson and Jordan Meredith, head coach Pete Carroll conducted mental gymnastics to keep Rogers on the bench for as long as possible. The former Texas Tech standout got into the lineup on Sunday… sort of.
Rogers played just 17 offensive snaps. Carroll decided to split in-game reps, with veteran Atonio Mafi earning 31 snaps to Rogers' 17. Still, it was encouraging to see the 98th overall pick finally make his regular-season debut.
Now that Rogers has somewhat earned Carroll's trust, the head coach should shift his attention to his other neglected third-round rookie. The 2-10 Raiders are in fact-finding mode as they prepare for 2026. That means fellow third-round offensive lineman Charles Grant should get an opportunity to play.
Grant has played just one offensive snap this year. Meanwhile both of the Raiders' offensive tackles are struggling. Stone Forsythe has done a replacement-level job filling in for injured left tackle Kolton Miller, and right tackle Delmar "DJ" Glaze has allowed seven sacks and 33 pressures this year, per Pro Football Focus.
Grant impressed throughout the preseason. The raw rookie out of William & Mary has had a full offseason and 14 regular-season weeks to develop and improve. It's time for the Raiders to insert Grant into the lineup so they can analyze whether or not he's a 2026 solution.

Charles Grant had some really good reps. The thing that stood out to me about the #Raiders OT is the movement. Guys his size aren't suppose to move like that. I also like how he uses his hands and punches in pass pro, as opposed to catch guys, which a lot of OTs do. pic.twitter.com/tb1GuKpmFt
