When Blake fumbled the ball away, he "somewhat" had recovered it about the same time the Detroit player did. BUT, Blake was down on the ground with 2 hands on the ball. Abeit the Detroit player had 2 hands on the ball too, but Blake was down on the ground. Couldn't that be considered Blake's possesion? Question: Why wouldn't that be considered "down" (play is dead)? Possession Arizona.

I don't think that he established possession of the ball. Perhaps Mac should have challenged the call, but the replay was by no means meeting the burden of proof. Oh, and Mac can't manage a game, anyway.

Two hands on the ball doesn't mean possesion. He didn't have "control" of the ball. If he did, then yep, he'd be down by contact and whallah...Cards ball.

Yeah, Shocker I saw that too. But I remember the ball disappearing from the camera shot when Blake scooped at it (Detroit players in way!) so he is probably the only one that could say & I don't remember him making a stink about it.... :?

He didn't have "control" of the ball.
But he wasn't bobbling it. I don't know...I mean I'm sure your right about Blake not having complete "control", but you would think the same could be said for the Detroit player. The only difference was that Blake was on the ground at the time the Detroit player took the ball. It happens so fast though...tough to call.

I thought of that after the play and watched for it on the replay. Blake never really had possession after the fumble. He grabbed it with both hands but by that time the Lions player had it as well. I wanted to argue that at the TV as well but the replay didn't really support it IMO.
