BLOOMINGTON — Purdue women's basketball had zero answers for senior Indiana guard Shay Ciezki or the dry spell the program has hit shooting with six games remaining in the regular season.
Ciezki had her way with the Boilermakers by scoring off the dribble while any defender in front her was met with little resistance.
Ciezki scored 29 points (10-of-19 shooting) with 12 rebounds and Purdue fell 74-59 at Simon Skjodt Assembly Hall on Sunday afternoon.
Purdue freshman Avery Gordon scored 17 points, senior Madison Layden-Zay scored 15 points and sophomore Nya Smith added nine points but Purdue offered little resistance to Ciezki.
Ciezki scored 19 points in the first half.
Ciezki entered the Sunday matchup averaging 23.8 points per game and shooting 54.5%.

She created separation for her shot with her dribble and the floodgates opened further for Indiana after holding the lead 33-20 at halftime.
Indiana (14-11, 3-10) won the 99th matchup between the two schools and hasn't loss at home to the Boilermakers since Jan. 12, 2012.
Purdue (11-13, 3-10 Big Ten Conference) overcame Indiana's opening 11-0 run with a 3-pointer by senior Madison Layden-Zay before the Hoosiers closed the first half on a 13-0 run.

The Boilermakers fell back into a tie for 16th place with five games remaining in the regular season while avoiding being left out of the Big Ten Conference tournament for the second straight season.
Purdue's high mark came with back-to-back wins on the road against Wisconsin on Jan. 8 and to No. 23 ranked Washington at home on Jan. 11 before being swept in its trip to California against USC and UCLA.
The Boilermakers won the Barn Burner Trophy against Indiana on Jan. 25 for the first time since 2016 but has lost four straight games ever since.

Purdue will host Rutgers on Saturday, Feb. 14 at noon and Iowa on Thursday, Feb. 19 at 7 p.m. from Mackey Arena.
The Boilermakers travel to Maryland on Sunday, Feb. 22 at 1 p.m., back home against Oregon on Wednesday, Feb. 25 at 7 p.m. before facing Northwestern on the road on Sunday, March 1 at 3 p.m. to potentially decide their Big Ten Conference fate.
