Puka Nacua won't be playing in Super Bowl LX after the Los Angeles Rams lost to the Seattle Seahawks in the NFC championship game, but that doesn't mean he doesn't have a rooting interest in the game. However, his feelings are complicated.
On one hand, the New England Patriots have a chance to beat the team that beat the Rams. On the other hand, the Seahawks are representing the NFC and the Rams' division — plus one of Nacua's best friends, receiver Cooper Kupp, plays for Seattle.
When it comes down to what he'll be cheering for, though, Nacua took a very hard line.
"My loyalty lies with Coop," Nacua said. "I will be cheering Cooper Kupp, and I will not be cheering for the Seahawks. I will cheer for No. 10, and I hope he has a good game. I'm excited to see him out there. He deserves it. There's nobody I'll be more excited for [if he wins]."
This is less of a definitive Super Bowl prediction and more of Nacua supporting his friend. Which makes sense: Why should Nacua root for a team that isn't his own to win? Instead, he'd rather see a close friend and mentor excel and (possibly) take home another Super Bowl trophy — even if it's not to L.A.
Nacua has spoken highly of Kupp throughout his three years in the NFL, including this past season when Kupp was released and signed with the rival Seahawks. Kupp helped Nacua learn the nuances of the receiver position after the Rams drafted Nacua in 2023, and the two blossomed into a sensational one-two receiver duo during their two years together in L.A.
