And I won't mention the QB position, because that will be covered, and covered and covered. Instead I'll look at the following:
1. Pass Rush-We didn't have much of one in game one, but I expect Porter and Haggans to play more in game two, and hopefully that will result in an improved PR.
2. Brandon Keith-He couldn't handle Super Mario, and he has to improve. His backup (Johnson) was also poor in game one in pass blocking.
3. Alan Fanaca-Didn't play much, last week, but would think he'll play more and I hope this means a better run game for the Cards.
4. Greg Toler-Looked good against Houston, can he keep it up?
5. McBride-I really didn't see him for more than a couple of plays. Hope to see more.
6. Young WR's-With Fitz and possibly Doucet out and Breaston probably not playing much, this will be great chance to evaluate Williams, Roberts, Jones and Kumar. I'm not down on Roberts as many are, but hooking up with DA for a second game, he should be more relaxed. Williams will probably be in the game earlier and thus will be going up against better competion. Jones has looked solid and his experience has helped him. Is Kumar this year's Long?
7. Justin Miller-Maybe he can't play CB, but he's the best KR on the team, and is exciting to watch in that role.
8. Daryl Washington-Can he continue to play as well as last week?
9. Who will be this week's John Skelton?

Game Two

I forgot two things:
1. Marshay Green as a CB and PR.
2. Jorick Calvin looked fast, last week, can he play CB?

1. Levi Brown. I watched Keith last week, and I'm pretty sure of what's there. I'll be watching Brown because he's playing a mid-level DE in William Hayes. Will Levi be able to maintain his intensity against lesser competition?

2. Rashad Johnson. Was paying attention to Daryl Washington last week. When I get the chance, I'll have my eye on Johnson to see if he's taking false steps or if he's confident enough in the reads that he's making to deliver a blow.

3. Will Davis. Last week I was watching Cody Brown. I'm not all that interested in Davis's pass rush ability, but I do want to see him containing the run game and stringing the play out down the line of scrimmage.

4. Stephen Spach. I kind of hope he fails because I want Jim Dray to make the active roster. I want to see how he holds up in blocking situations.

I'm surprised that there's a lot of strum and drang about the offense right now. After last week's game where the Texans' offense essentially marched right down the field on our starting D without any encumbrance at all until they essentially gave up the drive, I'm far more concerned about the defense. Sorry.

#1. I too was watching how Keith did. I'll probably do the same this week to see if he improves.

#3. I was watching Washington and Williams when the defense was on the field. I think I will cocentrate more on Brown this week.

#4. There is something I really like about Spach. Maybe it's his feistiness. I think TE is one of the more interesting battles of camp.

- With each succeeding week, I'll be looking for Unit Cohesion. How crisp does the offense look? Are they effective in the red zone? Are our runners getting at least 3 or 4 yards between the tackles?

- Are our defenders avoiding being out of position and are they quick to the ball?

- Are our coverage units doing a better job of containing oppositing returners? Are we consistently moving KO returns past the 25 - 30 and averaging more than 8 yards per punt return?

- Can a QB other than Skelton execute the screen pass without it looking like an adventure?

- Will either Leinart or Anderson catch fire and make us feel confident they can consistently move this team the way good offenses are supposed to?

- I want to see more of Byrd and Dray at TE.

- Will we turn loose our starting DE's (Calais and DD)?

- I don't expect to see anything directly inspirational from Dan Williams (Because he is at the non-sexy position of NT, proof that he's doing his job will probably need to show up in the production of our LB's and safeties).

- Can Daryl do it again?

- Will we see more pass rush explosion from Joey P and Haggans?

- Who - among 4 or 5 very athletic and hungry CB's - will step up and seize the moment? (I'm guessing it will be Toler, but don't count out any of the other dudes - when you're a lights-out athlete, your athleticism can more than make up for rawness and you can make that quantum leap from scrub to starter pretty quick).

- Who's gonna wind up returning punts and kickoffs? (LSH? Stevie? Miller?)

Simple. I want to see the first team offense put the ball in the end zone as validation that this team is still aggressive in play calling. I want to see at least one or two 9-routes and hope Leinart hits someone like Breaston in stride. I also want to see explosiveness from Beanie and the o-line to at least demonstrate the threat of the run.

After one preseason game it is tought to say what I am looking for.

I THINK most of our roster is already made so here are my camp battles going on right now, and thus I am looking at these players.

4th Running back spot:

Jason Wright vs. Alfonso Smith
- with Smith being eligible for PS this is not much of a competition.

5th WR spot & Stephen Williams:

Andre Roberts vs. Onrea Jones
- I will keep an eye on Stephen Williams, with the injuries at WR will he be
out there with Doucet ? If so, the battle is between Onrea Jones and Roberts with Roberts getting the edge from being a draft pick, and an easy decision to be inactive on game day.

3rd Tight End Spot:

Dominique Byrd vs. Stephen Spach
- Jim Dray is headed for the practice squad, he'll easily clear waivers. It is between Byrd and Spach for the final TE spot.

Odd man out on the OL:

Fatty vs. Fatty ..... I mean Duece Lutui vs. Herman Johnson
- Both are in the doghouse. Bridges plays T/G, Hadnot plays C/G, and the Cardinals usually keep one more OLineman. Lutui is the better talent, but Johnson makes it easy to decide who will be the inactive lineman on game day. Maybe there is a HUGE shocker and Reggie Wells gets the boot but he has been running with the 1st team since day one. If the Cardinals are not shopping Lutui or Wells I would be shocked.

5th MLB postiion:

Pago Togafau vs. Monty Beisel
- With the health concerns at ILB we will have 5 ILB's, at least that is my guess. Togafau has looked better on the field but Beisel is more versitile.

4th & 5th Cornerback - (2 positions open):

Michael Adams vs. Marshay Green vs. Trevor Ford vs. future signee
- AJ Jefferson should clear waivers for our practice squad. One can only hope cause the guy looks the part physically. As for the last two CB spots. I am keeping a close eye on Marshay Green, specifically on Special teams coverage and punt returns.
