Swansea City youngster Carter Heywood has signed his first professional deal, which ties him to the Championship club until the summer of 2029.
Centre-back Heywood, 17, featured in all three games during Swansea's recent pre-season trip to Austria, having been named academy player of the season in 2025-26.
The Wales Under-19 international, from Pembrokeshire, joined Swansea at under-nine level.
He has been handed a contract despite being only halfway through a two-year scholarship.
"Getting this contract a year early, while I'm still on a scholarship, shows that the club have trust in me and I'm so thankful for that," Heywood said.
"Coming from Pembrokeshire, your family have to sacrifice a lot to get you to training; I'm grateful for that.
"There were loads of times where they'd finish work early, or I'd finish school early, around three or four times a week."
