Penn State football will have a completely overhauled roster to get to know in 2026 under new head coach Matt Campbell. Following one of the most active offseasons in recent memory for Penn State with a flurry of activity in the transfer portal, fans will have a lot of catching up to do in getting to know this year's Penn State roster. Fortunately, not every face will be brand new to fans. Regardless, we will be here to give you a fresh overview of every player on the roster for the 2026 season with a series of player profiles.
From all of the returning players, a long list of new faces from the transfer portal, and incoming recruits from the Class of 2026, we will have you covered with this year's player profiles for the Penn State roster. Here is a quick look at linebacker Tony Rojas for the 2026 season.
Class of 2023: Composite four-star prospect, No. 7 LB per 247Sports
Tony Rojas was one of the top prizes in Penn State's Class of 2023. The Gatorade High School Player of the Year in the state of Virginia was easily one of the top targets for the Nittany Lions under former head coach James Franklin, and keeping him from making a move to Virginia Tech with a number of former Penn State players Franklin to the Hokies was a massive win for Penn State.
Throughout his Penn State career, Rojas has appeared in 30 games, compiling 56 career tackles, 14 tackles for loss, 3 sacks, and four interceptions.
Rojas is seen as the definitive leader of the Nittany Lions defense, projected to start at the weakside linebacker position. This is notable as he will be needed to bolster a new look defense after a season-ending injury put his Penn State future in doubt. Rojas could also see some time in the middle of the park in Matt Campbell's scheme due to his elite coverage ability.
Tony Rojas is actually an avid collector of candles, including unique scents of the Barbershop variety.
